This science experiment keeps the kiddos entertained for a long time. It is very similar to the volcanoes, but much easier. You simply need LOTS of baking soda, vinegar, food coloring, 2 containers for the baking soda, spoons and little containers for the vinegar (got mine at the dollar store).
First, sprinkle the baking soda in a big container, like a Pyrex 13 x 9. Then, mix the vinegar with food coloring. The number of containers depends on the number of colors you will make.
Using different spoons for each color and making sure the spoons do not touch the baking soda, add a teaspoon of the vinegar mixture to the baking soda.
It will make an explosion!
They had fun mixing colors as well!
Easy, cheap and fun! Try this at home when you hear the “mom, I’m bored!” We had to clean everything and do it over and over again three times!
