Healthy-er Brownies

My kids really love brownies but I actually feel kind of guilty when they eat too many sweets (Hygienist guilt) and too much junk. So I decided to experiment a healthier version of brownies and use applesauce instead of a stick of butter. I still use some butter, but only 3 tablespoons! That saves a lot of fat! 
Here are the ingredients:
3 TBSP butter
1 snack container of applesauce
1 C Sugar or Splenda
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 t salt
1/2 tsp baking powder
  1. Melt butter
  2. Mix applesauce
  3. Beat in eggs
  4. Combine dry ingredients
  5. Mix dry ingredients with wet ingredients
  6. Have cute helpers to stir 😉
  7. Bake @ 350 for 25 to 30 min
  8. Let cool
  9. Cut and sprinkle with powder sugar
The consistency of these brownies is more like a cake. If you want fudgy brownies, you can add more eggs or more applesauce.
